The Last Gown Series - Art for Gaza

The "Last Gown / الرداء الأخير " series is about the fallen child victims of Gaza . Each photo in the series is a tribute to one of the victims, through the last outfit they were remembered by, or even died in. Hopefully, by looking at the empty dress, we can’t but wonder about the clueless life and innocence that was lost.

I always wanted to do something to support Gaza using my art, but I didn't have a concept to work with, till I saw this photo on the top of this page:

http://cintayati.wordpress.com/2014/07/17/israels-tactics-provoke-a-sense-of-deja-vu/

Although i have no idea who the photographer is but the minute I saw it I experienced something...it immediately took me on a journey of this victim's life like a tape playing in reverse, from the moment she was injured (or maybe killed, but i hope not), to the moments of horror during the bombing just before, to minutes earlier when she was playing with her friends, to lunch time with the family a couple of hours earlier, to coming back to school and waking up in the morning for a quick breakfast..back to her lying peacefully in bed looking to start another innocent day, hopefully loaded with fun times with other kids and eating lots of candy.

These children could have had a life that takes them one way or another, but will never know now. At least 504 children were killed, thats a generation or generations of future #Gaza families.

The loss, although incomprehensibly devastating, is way greater than it looks today.

Israel as an occupant will always go for the root, it is known they target children to terrorise, and eliminate because they will grow up and punch back and reclaim their stolen rights. They know the exponential impact they will have growing up.

The "Last Gown" photo series i just started as a tribute to the fallen child victims of Gaza ...now on display in#ArtForGaza in #Amman .. an art exhibition showing works of very talented artists, all coming together to support the children of Gaza.

Its a great chance to own a great piece of art and support #Gaza children, the following link has all details to the event, after which you will find my photos.
